Wood County Area Ministries assists in the following manner:

Wood County Area Ministries assists in the following manner:

1.     A person in need reaches out for help to a church or another agency

2.     The church or agency either assists the person or refers the person in need to 211, a 24-hour, every day information and referral service.

3.     Where there are no other social service or community resources available, 211 can refer to Wood County Area Ministries for assistance.

4.     Wood County Area Ministries will either meet the need through

a.     Referring the person in need to a specific ministry operated by a network church

b.    Drawing funds from the Emergency Relief Fund, which is supported by financial gifts from member churches.

c.     Seeking financial help from another network church or affiliated organization

After the person receives assistance from Wood County Area Ministries, church volunteers from network churches follow up with the person to ensure that needs were met and to see if other resources are needed.
