A Council of Representatives, led by an elected Chairperson, meets each month to review our processes, grow in our understanding of poverty, and find new ways to meet needs in our communities. The Council elects a Chairperson, Vice Chair, and Secretary.   They provide direction and oversight of the Wood County Area Ministries (WAM) Coordinator, if requested.  Council members must

  • Be open and responsive to the leading of the Holy Spirit
  • Be active members of a WAM Church/Ministry
  • Report on the ministries provided by their Church/Ministry
  • Understand the needs of people who are in crisis or are otherwise struggling in Wood County
  • Annually review the mission and vision statements to ensure they accurately reflect God’s purpose for this group
  • Be willing to collaborate with others to achieve a common objective (the mission of WAM)
  • Encourage innovation and resourcefulness in themselves and others to create new ministries that will meet unfulfilled needs
